The worse website I have come accross yet, some of the birds killed are Federally protected Racing Pigeons, the DNR investigator claims once the Racing Pigeon is released for a race it becomes fair game.
Well I replied to this person and said "then the Racing Pigeon is only federally protected while he/she is in there loft?", I haven't heard from this investigator since, so I have brought many new players into the game such as the HSUS, ASPCA, PETA, FEDS, and many animal rights orgs.
Since there is no way to tell if the bird is Feral and or a Racer then all Pigeons should be protected, not just the racer, this law if passed will also stop the hunting of the Dove, the bird of PEACE.
So, this site is the WORSE I have come accross in along time, and If I have my way, there's afew people going to jail for awhile.

That is just sickening. I had NO idea people were hunting PIGEONS! What is wrong with them??

That is one sick site!! I would have thought when they were informed about the bands, they would have at least stopped. What's wrong with people? I have never liked the thought of killing anything for sport.

I really don't have anything against hunting for meat, but these guys are hunting for the thrill of the kill! They know these birds belonged to someone and they think it's cool to kill a pigeon with a band. I just don't understand it.

I will refrain from using the adjectives to describe these <adjectives>. I'd love to personally wipe the smiles off their faces.

I have no issues with hunting to feed ones family,Hunting used to be a sport of dignity, one would shoot an animal to feed his/her family, and then pay tribute to that animal for giving his/her life to feed the family, a prayer was said.
I see wrong and try and right it, I never wish to upset people and or hurt there feelings or dis-respect there opinions, we all have different thoughts and ideas.
I am not saying I am better and or worse than the next person, as a rescuer I live in a different world but try my best to be apart of everyones world.
Killing animals for fun is Wrong, I have asked for folks to help me to make changes, even within the Pigeon world I have found resistence.
Pigeons are killed for the fun of it, there lives have no meaning.
Doves are also killed simply to be killed, hunters boast about the (fast action).
These birds are left were they fall, the hunter will not take the time to clean and prepare these birds as you will only get 2 oz. of breast meat.
Then the politics, "well we hunters help keep the dove population under control", this (ignorent) belief helps fuel the hunters killing frenzy way of thinking.
One hunter said to me, "can you imagin all the deer that would be running out in front of cars and hurting people if we didn't shoot them".
I said, "I know if you hunters weren't in the woods shooting at them they wouldn't be running out onto the streets as much as they do", most car-deer related accidents happen during hunting season...(FACT).
I was explaining one day on another forum how the pigeon was used to save lives by carrying messages from hospital to hospital, a great hunter responded, "in todays world there is no need for the pigeon to carry messages back and forth", I responded, "in todays world there is no need to hunt and kill animals, one can buy anything in a grocery store".
These issues are by far (heart felt) (disturbing) and me....I cry badly sometimes, I know animals have feelings, I know they have days of happiness and Sadness, I know they are just as (human) as you and I, and I hope you understand what I just said.
I pray for everyone to find it within there hearts to (understand) me, I very much wish to walk with you, and walk with the animals at the same time, (I am torn inside)....I hurt badly for them...

Broken wing, I have to agree with you. To hunt in the 1800's meant your family stayed alive and fed. To hunt now has become a sport---a killing sport and I cannot think of anything worse than killing for the sake of killing.
