Default Activity play

What activities do you share with your bird? I have a very curious macaw who loves to fly, flies to me from any angle whenever I call him, and can figure out any foraging toy in about 2 seconds. I don't want to teach him how to rollerskate or anything like that (seems sort of useless to me), and while he loves to cuddle and get neck scritches, I feel like I should be doing something else with him, something interactive, something that he thinks is fun, and that will enlarge his world. Any suggestions?

Ruby and I like to play the stairs game. I put toys all up the stairs and she goes up and then throws each item down. Rather loud and messy but fun! Silly macaws!

Kita loves to play fetch with her Hol-ee Roller ball. Kady does not like the floor but I've gotten him involved in the play time; he throws the ball for Kita as he sits on my lap.

Ollie and I play peekaboo wth towels or the bed sheets. I'll throw it over her, say "wheeeere's Ollie??" then I pull it off and she'll say "PEEK A BOO!" It didn't take her very long to learn that one, and we still have fun with it. Plus, it desensitizes her to the towel in the event I need to towel her.

Her all time favorite game is 'get the toes.' That is where she tries to attack our toes and make us scream and bleed. It's a painful game, but definitely keeps her occupied.

We play fetch with a rolled up sock on my bed.

She also has some acrylic shape stackers (see the Parrots at Play contest thread for a picture). That's a great training game. She's also modified it to 'mommy pick up the shape please, so I can drop it again'. Great fun. She'll drop it over the side of the table, look down at it, say "ut oh," then wait for me to retrieve it.

Recall training is great. Ollie is 100% when I have a clicker/treat. But she needs more practice at finding me when I call her from a different room in the apartment. Have you tried that? Sort of like a flight hide and seek? That may put a more challenging and interesting spin on it.
