Default Personalities

For those of you with 2 macaws of the same species, do you notice a difference in personalities?

We have 7 macaws living with us but only the GW is represented twice.
They both have similar personalities. They are fiercely loyal yet after they get to know and trust you can be very accepting. The key word is trust. They are extremely intelligent and it can take awhile for them to accept you. I know with Ru it took almost 2 years for him to feel comfortable with me. I think he was afraid that Jim would be mad if he showed me affection.
Hedgie was the same with Jim but it didn't take as long for him to be accepted. He still has to watch as do I at times because the GW is also a trickster. He will bait and bite just when you get comfortable.

Default Re: Personalities

Maple and Harley have VERY different personalities. Maple is very high strung and cranky with everyone but me. She has a bad rep for biting and almost everyone is afraid of her. She is very intelligent, curious, and loves to wander all over the house and terrorize everyone. She is very much a one person bird....mine! hehe

Harley on the other hand is very laid back and relaxed. He'll chat to anyone. Step up on anyone. Kiss anyone. He is very playful and easygoing. He prefers Rob but tolerates everyone's attention well. He hasn't taken to wandering about as Maple does yet, but is trying to fly once in a while. He doesn't play with toys, paper etc as readily as Maple...and is much more adventurous an eater then Maple.

I am sure there are many many more differences, but those are the main ones. They definitely have very distinct personalities.
