Check out Budgie World in Australia. They have Budgie Butter in a jar and Eucalyptus leaves that stay fresh awhile. My Budgies love both. Especially one with Lipomas which leads me to believe it does have some healing properties.

Let me us know how your birds like it if you try it.

Karen, I believe it falls into the edible flower category. They say it has immune boosting properties in the oil. And some kind of mite protection for say, nest boxes. It does smell like it would lol. Like VICKS Vapo Rub.

It's mostly an Aussie thing so Tara probably knows alot more than me. Apparently a major part of the wild Budgie diet and nest. I started using it for my Budgies when I found Budgie World in AU. They LOVE LOVE LOVE it, nobody else cares about it. Probably a Lori might, too although Parrotlets have some Lori traits and mine dont care for it.

The wood is hard and a good perch.

Here's Budgie World's info, then a link from Kitchen Physician...

Thanks for the links Cindy. The Land of Vos page was great. I like to create a foraging experience by using the large 2 quart food dishes for my guys and am always looking for different textures to add. I've got some great ideas now to keep in mind when I shop!

DUH I NEVER thought to put the edible flowers IN the foraging box. oh man...they sell the organic ones here at the grocery stores and I get them in summer but it's a great idea. Of course for the small guys I only use a 2 inch box versus your 2 quart LOL...I could stick Piper AND Toby in your two quart and still have room left over LOL...
