Default hybrid question

I was just thinking about something....We see hybrids of macaws and conures and such, but never amazons? Not that I am advocating hybrids as I do not believe in them, but other than amazons mixing with different subspecies, like a YN and a parvarties yellow nape, or the nominate BFA with it's own subspecies, You do not see hybrids like a DYH and a BFA mixed. I would think it should be possible but perhaps not. Anyone know?

You know, that's a good question Kimba. I'm not for hybrids either, but not you've got me wondering.

Anyone?

On this page: Pet Tips & Info there's a photo of Beauregard, a Blue Front/Orange Wing Hybrid. I've seen other examples too but can't put my finger on where right now. I don't think it's done as much as it is with Macaws, but they are out there.

If you'll look at the pic of Abigail in my siggy, you'll see a Yellow Crown/Orange Wing hybrid. A sweeter bird has never been hatched.

There are amazon hybrids......but there are also many subspecies among amazon species so sometimes the hybrid is 2 different subspecies so its hard to tell. Also amazons not being as colorful as macaws makes it difficult to tell also.
Now this was about as clear as an amazon hybrid

Awwwww, thanks Gary. They really are sweet. I have no idea where Amazons get their reputation for being street thugs. They simply live life full throttle and expect the same of their companion humans .

And another good question Joanie, where do Amazons get their reputation? Seriously, mine is beyond sweet and very rarely a pain in the ass, unless of course he wants something. But I have yet to see anything in him that would live up to that Amazon reputation.
