Default Benny, Joon, and Lady too!

Here's 3 of my resident Doves. Benny and Joon were born on my arbor this year and Lady is the mom. It was windy here yesterday and the bird bath blew dry. I saw them sitting out there all but asking for a drink with their eyes. So yes, I promptly ran out and filled it!

Great picture Leigh! So nice that you got to see your resident doves grow from teeny tiny babies!

I love it! I note their back markings and keep an eye on them. Theres at least 10 out there everyday. I spoil them the best I can. Lady was born in my front pear tree 2 years ago. I got to see her babies come to life. I guess Im a Grandmom!

I just love them, I have a flock of 20 or so that visit my back yard, I was just thinking today if there is a way to make winter easier for them besides food.

The best you can offer the m is a constant fresh supply of water. Especially when things get frozen.

I just love the sweet doves! I feed 30-35 every day. Ruby and I sit and watch them eat. They wait on the rooftops until we come out in the am and then they start swooping in!

Wow, they grew so fast, such beauties.
If Possible, offer cracked corn, Hi energy, much needed during the winter months.
They do make heated water fountains, there kinda spendy.

My wild birds get a food mix that has cracked corn, different millets, and black oiled seed. Plus the bonus of the fids pellets and fresh foods. I try my best to keep the bird bath full. Ill be adding warm water to the bird bath in the cold weather so it will stay liquid longer.

The chickadees are here and have doubled in size. We have those sparrows with the black and white caps too. I can hear the cardinals. I got a rough shot of the female in the bird bath last week. Ill post it.
