Default Save the Pigeons

Arty,

Received this by email and thought of you... Kim

Save The Trafalgar Square Pigeons - Welcome to our website

---------URGENT: 1,800 BIRDS FACE NEW STARVATION THREAT

Back in 2000, London’s Mayor Ken Livingstone declared war on Trafalgar Square’s world famous pigeons. He banned the traditional sale of corn on the Square in an attempt to starve the flock. Instead, STTSP was born.

The Square’s pigeons are currently fed daily at 7.30am on the “North Terrace” outside the National Gallery. If you are one of the many people who miss the joy of feeding these gentle birds, why not join our team of early morning feeders?

It is not uncommon to find a pigeon in trouble! Young often leave their nests before they are fully ready. Others fail to find enough food and become unable to fly. Many are injured, whether by cats, cars or yobs. You are the bird’s only hope of survival.

The Mayor has reneged on our agreement and is trying to starve the Square’s pigeons. Hawks are being deployed to terrify and kill them and new legislation is being planned to ban our feeding programme. The birds urgently need your help. Here we explain what you can do and introduce our “action alert” scheme.

Thank You Kindly Kim for bringing this to my attention.
I will cross post this and plea for help.
I promise to you and the Bird of Peace I will do all that I can to help.
These birds are part of our world; this world belonged to them way before man evolved.
In my opinion, every city has city workers hired to clean the streets and parks, why kill or starve the animals, clean up after them.
After all, is this not what they are being paid to do?
Bird droppings are very good for gardens, there is a market for this kind of fertilizer, I am surprised someone hasn't capitalized on this fact.
Mankind always rushes in to kill.
Together we can change things; together we can make a difference.
The hardest part...is the together part.
Getting folks to help is the hardest thing to do.
Again, thank you Kim.
Peace
Arty
