Default Wanting to adopt in NJ

I'm looking to adopt a Medium Sulfer Crested or Citron in Central NJ. Guaranteed safe, loving, forever home. I have been in contact with several of the rescues, just looking for the right fit. Extensive large bird experience and references.

Go to Petfinder.com: Adopt a pet and help an animal shelter rescue a puppy or kitten.. Or Patsnest here runs the South JErsey bird club has a rescue also.

Thanks! I already have a rescued racing Greyhound and I've emailed the So Jersey birdclub about an application. I'm also working with the Bailey Foundation and FreshStart Rescue. I don't want to buy a baby bird because I think there are plenty available out there already that need better homes. There's no rush, the right one will come along.

Good for you, shesacharmer! Kudos for adopting instead of buying! You are right, lots and lots of great birds out there in need of a good home. If I hear of a sulphur or a citron, I will let you know.

There is a ducorps for adoption in a New York rescue I can recommend. He is plucked and the avian vet believes his follicles have been damaged so, most likely, he will never grow those feathers back but that's not his fault but ours and he is otherwise healthy. Let me know if you are interested and I will get you in touch with the people who run it.
