Question Hanging Gyms?

hey all,

i was looking at this hanging gym for ivy and was wondering if anyone had any experience with these particular gyms :

EX- LG PARROT GYM SWING PERCH CAGE TOYS TREE STAND TOY - (eBay item 190162123690 end time Oct-21-07 13:46:21 PDT)

it seems that wayne has stopped taking custom orders for bottlebrush gyms (poo!) so unless i am able to snag one of his premade gyms, i will have to go with something else. it's hard to find a good wooden hanging gym!!

No experience with them, but I've seen them on Ebay and they look intriguing. I'd like to know more about those "3 stage molecular process" branches, like what they're actually made of. They certainly seem to have some advantages over natural wood when it comes to cleanliness and strength/weight ratio.

I had one of their gyms when I had my eclectus. My eclectus loved it and played all around it. The only bad thing was that it is made of like a rawhide type material and the brown is actually some sort of dye. So whenever I would wipe it down with a damp cloth, the color would start to run. Other then that it was great! I was thinking of buying one for Yoshi.

I have a standing version of this gym and have had it now for about 3 years. I am pretty sure mine is made of PVC that has somehow been manipulated to look like wood. I could not tell this from the upper part of the gym but the post that goes into the base pulls out and I can see it is PVC.

I have had all but my macaw on this gym and they all like it. I got a large floor model that came with a smaller hanging gym. I've gotten so many playgyms that I ended up putting this one in storage for the time being -- the base is made of wood and one of my birds got down there and did a good "reconstruction" number on it, or else I would probably still have it out. Other than for the wood base, the rest of it is pretty much indestructible from what I can see. I use the hanging part all the time. Btw, the bowls in the gym are very secure and I've not yet had a bird get one of them out. That is a bonus in my book! Thumbs up from me!

I got mine off e-bay and remember that it took a while to get to me -- I think around 6 weeks or so.
