Ollie is messier than Dakota. She'll sweep her beak through her pellets, flinging them clear across the room. She seems to fling her kitchen sink stuff fairly far and wide as well (that is, if she even touches it- usually she turns the dish over and dumps it all out). She also eats pomegranate and Dakota doesn't- that right there assures that she's messier!

They're all messy beasties, but ounce for ounce, I think Petey McSweet (Sun Conure) is the messiest of all. He's certainly got Mikey Blue beat in the "let's make a mess" category.

Budgies can flick seeds further than the suns, although the mess can be bigger under the suns cage. They can tip dishes and flick soft food on the wall. The budgies don't flick soft food. I would say gram for gram the budgies are more capable, just there are more suns to do the job.

I can't begin to tell you how many shop vacs I have gone through. Yea, I would have to say the Budgies are the worst.

We have 5 vaccumes here...there are the best fed entities in our home....
From uprights to tank type, from 3 filter systems to 2 filter systems we have used and seen them all, I won't touch the price issue....
Here in this GIANT BIRD HOUSE, we have learned our birds trash there rooms, and the living room, the dinning room, the kitchen and they trash the kitchen 2 times per day as they eat supper with us and also have a late night outting at 9 pm every night.
Sammy, our male TAG and Tucker our male Quaker compete on who can make the larger mess during out of cage time.... , I think Sammy wins but it is very close....
But by far...our Tiels make the largest mess in both bird rooms, with our Parakeets coming in a close second place....
I always keep in mind...Never take the labor in vain, keeping and caring for birds is a PASSION...and with me and my mate Rose Ann....caring for birds is our world...

Vacuuming and like Camille says, feeding berries and seeds.....LOL

BTW, Folex cleans this right up.....found in Target and other stores

(also cleans everything on hard surfaces and fabric and it seems to not have any magnetic qualities so the carpet doesnt get dirty right away again where you used this stuff)


But I don't use it around birds even though it's MSDS makes it seem safe and a "Nonionic Surfactants".

My teils and finches we a lot messier than my Gracie. She just make a mess right by her cage. But those little ones. . . . lol I would find seeds clear across the room!

As far as seeds go, the budgies and Lulu are about the same. There's a little bit of seed hulls outside of their cages, but it's not terrible by any means. Now veggies and anything sticky is another story - the budgies win on the messiest category there! Food - like rice - sticks very well to those tiny beaks and the budgies have the strongest "head fling" which sends veggies in all directions Lulu is much more of a lady and she simply scrapes her beak off nicely.
