Ryan is Home! Hello All! Happy Sunday!
Well I brought Ryan home Friday night. After sitting in 3 hours of traffic, I was expecting the worst when I finally did get him home. But he came right out of his little dog carrier without issue. In fact, Ryan has been nothing but a pure pleasure from the second he arrived! I'm still in shock as the breeder told me he might growl for a couple of days, and just might be unpleasant. He also said he might not eat too much. Well Ryan has not stopped eating!
Leigh, Karen, I took your advice. I let him hang out in his cage for about an hour, I talked to him, put on music, and then he was ready to come out. I walked him around through each room, introduced him to everything and he was totally into it. He's a little clingy but very lovable. He has not once tried to bite me. He loves his Java tree, will sit there and sometimes nap. Also, nothing phases this bird. There is not a noise that has bothered him yet and I live near a train!
I am so in love and very suprised his first days home are going so well. I was expecting the worst as I have heard some horror stories! But I do think that the fact I met Ryan a few times before I brought him home, helped him to be comfortable with me.
Thank you so much for all of your advice. I will take some pics today and post them later on. I'm so proud of him!
Camille, I love the Ollie name story. You brought a smile to my face. At least you didn't name her Bob! Now that would've been hard to live with! HAH!
Talk to you all soon..
