Default tomatoes?

I don't know why, but I always thought tomatoes were a no no for bird. Is this true? Does anyone feed these to their parrots? I'm wondering if it would cause them intestinal problems???

Tomato's are fine. You can also try some low-salt V-8 juice. Are you thinking too much acid may cause an intestinal problem?

I had some vague notion about the acid content as well. I think the larger issue is with prepared concoctions (canned sauces etc) containing salt and other stuff.

I hope that's not true because I've been giving my birds tomatoes now that they are in season. And sometimes they even nibble on them.
