I don't. The ones we use are very strong in Clorox smell. Maybe too much. but it'd be handy wouldn't it!?

I would say no. I even have a slight chemical sensitivity myself so I can't use most of those things but for birds definitely not.

I do use the no odor Clorox spray disenfectent that they just came out ... but only "in" the kitchen not when the birds are around. Like on my remote since they love to beak that. And other wierd items.

But it's too expensive to use all the time on everything anyway.

I use Dawn, GSE, Oxyfresh, 10% bleach water sometimes...but not around birds.

I also have some stuff from Todd Marcus Birds Exotic that's a sanitizer but I forget the ingredients. I think it's Chlorhexidine for some bacteria like yeast and Asper.

I fall back on GSE alot for daily stuff with white wash cloths and kitchen towels and I just dump them all into the washing maching every coupla days. In the wash I use the Oxyfresh or bleach.

BTW Oxyfresh is NOT Oxyclean. Oxyclean is not safe. Oxyfresh has to be ordered online last time I heard.

I see bleach water recommended a lot for cleaning, so I thought bleach wipes would be okay. They're just so handy. I'll have to look into that no odor clorox spray.

They ARE handy that's for sure. But they have other stuff in them. Just using a 10 % bleach to water meets the guidelines for sanitizing. But then you have to rinse that really well and it still packs a powerful odor, too.

That stuff is called Anywhere Hard Surface, a blue container...at the grocery store... and you just spray and leave it. Its the one on tv you see the mom spray the baby's food tray LOL.

Try the GSE it's great. For all round use, too. You can get a 2 oz bottle at a healthfood store over by the vitamins. White squeeze bottle red letters. About $10.00. Mine's lasted over a year!

I put 12 drops in my spray bottle and use it to dissove everything, clean everything, do carpets, and you can leave it on surfaces ok, too.

You cannot let it contact a bird in heavy concentrations though, it burns and irritates them. Some people put a drop in the water bowl but I dont like messing with their gi system with that.

I think the GSE is good for your hands and nails, too where the bleach is killer ...bonus LOL. I can tell because the nails on my right hand grow faster and stronger than on my left and I'm right handed so it has to be from cleaning with that hand all the time ha ha.

Cindy, I use Dawn and Oxyclean to clean grates in the bath tube. I also use Oxyclean in our carpet cleaner. We always open the windows and have a fan moving the air outside. The mixture we use for carpets does not have a smell to it. I read the MSDS sheet and agree it could be toxic if ingested or a non-ventilated area in high concentrations.

Thank you for the information!

That's funny , I just got finished doing the grates in the tub and had Oxyclean soaking some rags in the sink and used one LOL.

I was remembering that caution from my dog lists. People were having to use it for barfing dogs although we ended up using home made mixtures since dogs aren't as sensitive to odors. And the home made mixture worked the best. For barf.

But the Oxyfresh they say you can put in drinking water safely and we were afraid people were going to put the OXYCLEAN in the bowls there were a coupla close calls LOL.

I'm glad you told me that since I'm going to rent a carpet steamer today and I'll put the OxyCLEAN versus the OxyFRESH in it then, since it prolly works better.

Oh how I remember the days when no one worried about what to, or, not to use around birds. I also remember when minors took Canaries in to the mines with them. When the bird died, the minors got the heck out.

I have GSE. I use it whenever I soak toys. And used to put it in Ollie's water, although I haven't in awhile.
