Default Freedom Cage?

I'm still doing my research on cages and I am now considering a custom made freedom cage (Welcome to FreedomCage.com!). It is a lot more then I anticipated spending but I'd rather have one that is large enough to accomodate a macaw and last a lifetime (or at least 10 years..lol). Does anyone have any feedback regarding this company? pros and cons? Thanks.

Other than the price, I've never heard any cons at all. If you can do it, they are probably the best cage around.

Have to agree with Nate.

I can get ya to 5 years! lol

I have two of the model cages, Samsula and Deltona, both dometop. The Samsula belongs to my B&G. She popped a small verticle bar from the back of the dome and she removes the feeder supports regularly. The Deltona belongs to my Eclectus and it shows zero wear.

The feeder is awesome but has two drawbacks. One, lotsa nooks and crannies to clean which means a little more effort on your part (not that big a deal, the system detaches easily in one piece). Two, a smaller species like Eclectus can easily fit in the dome/dish and assume it as her "nest". However, this isn't really the cage's fault....YOU tell a female Ekkie that broodish behavior is prohibited, lol.

It's not looking like I'll need to replace either cage anytime soon, if at all.

Well I spoke with Mark from Freedom Cages today. Very nice man and very informative. I wanted a custom cage tailored to my dimensions but after realizing that the cost is astronomical, I decided on one of their model cages. I'm getting the Wekiwa model (Samsula). Mark seems to think it'll be large enough for a harlequin. I'm very excited because it does seem like a very high quality cage. Unfortunately, it won't arrive for a few weeks. He told me that a shipment just left China yesterday and it takes approximately 20 days to arrive in the U.S. then it has to go through customs before it is delivered to me (about 5 days later). I think my bird will be ready before then and i'll be in a little pickle (I'll have the bird but won't have a cage yet--hopefully the breeder will hold him a little longer or I may have to buy a very cheap temporary cage).

What a gorgeous cage! That's the same size as Chico has, but unfortunately the similarity ends there.

Thank you! I actually got a temporary cage until my freedom cage arrives. It's a little bit smaller then I would like but it is holding up fine so far. Yoshi seems comfortable in it.
