I feel a bit stupid asking this question because I feel like I should know it. Is colored tissue paper (like what you wrap presents with) safe to use for birdie toys?

I don't know what they dye it with...guess I wouldn't take the chance.

It's not a stupid question I don't know either so I avoid it ....BUT alot of bird toys have that stuff too. The ones for small birds with raffia and crinkled up colored paper they like to shred. Like the paper they're chewing in my avitar it comes in colors at the bird stores.

Then you see toys in stores somebody made using old raffle tickets, popcorn holder cup things, other daily use things you know aren't "bird safe tested".....

I DO remember reading the pinatas were dangerous. I forget why something about the paper wasn't safe and imported to boot. I was sorry about that cuz Piper LOVED to sit on her pinata horse and chew his ear while watching herself in the mirror lol.
