Well, I love Parrotlets, but you are the only one that knows what you can do. Sounds like a darling Parrotlet!

well, I dont know you've resisted as it is. I was checking out some parrotlets just today at the store, but whats stopping me is the empty bank account and small apartment.

Honestly, if you feel like you have the love for all three, I'd say take him home. I wouldnt worry too much about your budgies because as long as you show them all the love they need, then they will adjust, in my opinion at least. Papi was an only bird for a while and now theres 5 all together, and everyone has adjusted. The main condiseration is you, if you feel like you chave the love and time to give all of them, and of course the money to support them, I see no reason why you shouldnt have a new friend.

Now I want to see pictures of the guy in his new home....

Yes, it's a tough decision, especially when he seems he is bonding with you already. Parrotlets are so cute. But only you can decide. So, what are you going to name him?

I have two budgies, and a blue one and a green one just like you. I also have a parrotlet. They actually live together in one cage (please no flames, BTDT) and they love each other. I say go for it!!

I would strongly advise against it. I did the same thing. My budgie hen has lipomas and I didnt know how long she was going to live. I presumed (wrongly) that the surviving male and my Parrotlet hen could be "friends". Since in my pet store it worked that way.

NOPE. First, parrotlets can kill other birds through misguided body language. I't s not intentional but they nip feet and a fight happens.

But in MY case she disrupted a PERFECTLY bonded pair of budgies. The male and Piper the plett fell instantly in love. She was so sad being alone. They were feeding each other and she hated the poor hen who actually tried to be friends.

THEN I found HIM standing on her back trying to breed her. So long story short she got her own mate and to this day over a year later she cannot be around the budgies.

Definitely it's going to be a problem IME. Parrotlets have a wierd thing, too about visually seeing other pairs. It creates a breeding trigger and you can find a totally plucked plett one morning, or worse, if there is a pair you can find one dead. If they are visually around another pair. Mate aggression.

I know Kristy had success with combining them and Jim's Plette is good with Benji but it's not statistically that way usually.

She will want to be with the budgies in some way, not really you once she understands the deal. There are always an abundance of birds around that we can be drawn to....so I'd say be tough and block it out of your mind. LOL Unless you're willing to rearrange you're whole house, time spent with your birds alternating and the eventual probability that you'll need to get the Plette a companion. Good luck with your decision!

If you pm me I can send you the whole story in detail I have it written out.
