Default Cage Setup

Hi Everyone!

Is there anywhere here or any other site that you know I can go to see different cage set ups? Trying to get lost of ideas for myself.

Thanks

Could you clarify exactly what you mean by "cage set-ups" - what type are you specifically interested in seeing/using/building: Regular cages (?); flight cages (?); indoor aviaries (?); bird rooms (?); outdoor flights/aviaries (?) ; custom built or store bought (?), etc. etc.....

I'll explain mine the best I can as I'm away from the house:

The bird room is set up pretty easy. It's a large room with 6 large windows (all screened). It's tiled with ceramic tile, though it looks real. I recommend if you tile, seal it with a good sealer as ours wasn't good at all. On the long wall, Echo-Bella and Lucy's cages are against two windows. On the joining side is Harley's cage (middle window). In the corner I have the playstand. Eventually, I will have a hoop ball there with toys that's the play center.

The cages are all set up a little different according to each bird. There are several perches in all the cages (varies, but here's a idea): (2) grooming perches (1) lava rock, (1) cholla or other type of wood. These are all at different levels. I also have rope perches in Lucy and Echo-Bella's cages, so I would take out other unneeded perches.

Toys! Lots and lots of toys! I like variety. Shredders, chewing, interactive, foraging, noise (bells) and acrilic/plastic. I also like the plasitc chains in various lengths for climbing and swinging. Foot toys, like shapes and balls are very popular as well.

Hi,

I'm interested in see assessories used in cages (i.e. toys, perches, boings etc). I have a Prevue cage that is 36w x 26d x 36t and I am curious if I can get different ideas. Hope this helps.

Thanks

I'd love to see pictures if possible. Thanks

Here's Pita's little slice of heaven.

All he needs are some toys, and it will be perfect.....

Here's Chipper's cage. She is a Parrotlet. She is in the doorway, you can barely see her.

I don't have any recent pics, but here's what I do. Anywhere from 4-6 perches, of varying type (rope, natural branch, pedicure, etc). Anywhere from 4-6 toys, depending on size of toy and size of cage. It is very important that a bird be able to flap their wings without hitting them on toys. That can cause broken blood feathers. 4 large toys in a cage at one time is plenty- so long as the bird is getting enough out of cage time with toys out there, and that the toys in the cage are rotated every week to week and half. Ollie is never bored, and has never fully destroyed any of the toys I have given her.
