Default Eating right away

I read all the posts where the birds wake up in the morning and start hollering for breakfast. My two sometimes eat when I first put them in their play cages or on their play stands in the morning, but usually they wait an hour or two before they eat.

Instead of asking; Do I have weird birds?

I think I'll just ask; Do your birds eat first thing in the morning?

Jerry and Lulu generally do not eat first thing (meaning when I put their breakfast in), but Winston generally does - he's turning into a little piglet, his head is always buried in his food bowl! Jerry typically plays with his bells first thing and meows at the cats, and Lulu generally preens all over first thing (a vain little princess she is lol).

Not her pellets, but Ollie will steal her Avi cake out of her bowl on the kitchen counter when I'm in the middle of preparing all of her food. She'll spend about 30 minutes devouring every bit of it, then she'll usually mosey on over to her pellets.

Eve is a night time snacker! I frequently hear little pellets dropping to the bottom of the cage in the middle of the night. And when morning comes he still pigs out on breakfast first thing in the morning!

My guys start munching on the pellet blend right away. But I do their fresh or warm food around 11AM. Ill say "who wants hot lunch!?" They start with a big wing stretch, then bobbing heads. Buddy usually says "sure!"

my suns help make food for all, they have to eat when they wake up. The outside birds are always right there to see what is on the menu for the day.

I'm not usually around in the morning (start work at 4am) so I didn't want them to get used to having a big breakfast. They have pellets available all the time, and Don gives them each some chopped up bananas when he uncovers them. They eat the bananas with varying degrees of enthusiasm, but they're not big morning eaters. They get their main meal in the late afternoon.

Generally it's thirty minutes after waking up. Especially if they have light which triggers the brain.

Mine are that way like clockwork. Wake up (get light) at 645-700 right now , get wheeled out by 7 ....fly and mess around till about 710 or 715 ....then eat.....

If I dont wheel them out of the bird room they start to pick in the cage at whatever they want usually someting goofy like petamine or gardenflora dried veggies. I guess they dont want the stupid seed they want their normal breakfast LOL

This is a small meal ....the main one is 2-4 pm. in winter and a bit later in summer. Like outside, to fill the crop before bedtime. Which here is 7 pm but SHOULD BE dusk but isnt since they're parrotlets and insist on sleeping early lol. The birds that go to bed at a normal daylight schedule snack around 7.

Danny wants to eat right away and will yell for his breakfast (and he does the same thing at night when we get home, if he wants some veggies and fruit- we know, lol).

Scarlett and Prinny wait about 30 minutes. And Doyle prefers to eat only when we put him back in his cage. He doesn't want to miss anything by eating, lol.

Jean's schedual is to wake (if I don't have work) by 10 AM. He takes a big poo about 10:05 then he gets fed and eats through out the day about every two hours I check and see what he's eaten and put papaya bits or pistachios or millet in there or nutriberries so he eats all day. I check his food periodically because it takes about the whole day for him to reduce his seeds to shells. He takes FOREVER to eat his extruded fruits so I almost never have to change it, he nibbles em from time to time. He truely has no set meal times except for the mornings or when I'm eating which is when mom has to give up an 16th of what ever she's eating to appease the almighty Jean XD.
