Ok...is it just me? As soon as the vacuum goes on, the fids go wacko and bath in their bowls! They shoot water EVERYWHERE! They SHOUT at the bowl! They SHOUT at ME!!!!!! What a looney bin!!!!!

Its there wayof dealing with the vacumm noise. I am sure..............

I've read that some behaviorists have the theory that the sound of the vacuum reminds them of a rain shower, or waterfall noise. None of mine are inspired to bathe, but they sure like to see if they can yell louder than the vacuum. Except Chico, who climbs around his cage doing his "big wings" thing and growling like a dog.

If mine are inclined to bathe, the vacuum will be just the ticket they need to get going also!

I wish mine would bathe when I vacuum - for as much as I vacuum I would certainly have SUPER clean birdies!

Jean hates the vaccum cleaner, I have one of those 4 pound super brooms I use because I don't like carpet so much and when I vaccum he tries to lean out of his cage since I like to leave it open and try to bite me or it when I pass near the cage.

How strange, today while I was vacuming, Sachmo decided to take a bath in her dish of drinking water, Sooooo while I am down on hands and knees getting the small areas I am also getting a bath...fun fun fun...

Mine refuse to get in the bath tub. But then I've never made it available while I was vacuuming. Guess what I am going to do tomorrow?

Lucy does this ritual as well! Vacuum on, straight to the water bowl! It's nearly impossible to vacuum with all the water!

Some of my birds do that, but the funniest is my big old honker scarlet -
she's in a kings 506 that has these little feed dishes, and Rudy is just *sure* she can fit her whole self into a 4" dish. I've been thinking about buying a doggie pool I saw at PetsMart and putting it in the middle of the living room, sticking Rudy in it and turning on the vac. Can't put her in the shower or the tub - too many mirrors in the bathroom and she goes into hormone overload if she sees herself..last time I tried she chased me into the water closet and kept me trapped there for what seemed like hours...

1/2 my greys climb directly into the water dish when the vac starts, and 1/2 the quakers, all 3 GCC's do it too.
