Exclamation The Bacon Thief

One of my roomies, Scott, the God among breadwinners has been working 72 hour weeks, like 17 hours per day up on the bridges here in NY/NJ because he's a bridge union guy. He's been very tired lately so this weekend when he had a break we prepped him kabobs and corn and such and let him break out his grill for the first time and today I cooked breakfast which was french toast, egg and bacon. So, I go downstairs, and let little Jean out of his cage and go upstairs in my freshly washed robe and sit down to eat. And as we're eating I'm watching the plasma screen edition of Spiderman, Jean is permitted to sit on the side of my plate and I let him eat some scrambled eggs because well he's molting I figure some extra protien at this point would be great for him. Well that goes on, I give him a couple minutes then I look down again, the little ******* is running away from me, towards the 7 year old across the table dragging my 7 inch crispy strip of bacon! So I try to grab him and being that I'm in my robe I can't do it too effectively. Scott and Stacy pull their plates back from the coffee table (we were eating in the living room) and I eventually snag the bacon and try to pull it away but it just breaks off and he gets half of it. I don't know what possessed him to eat the bacon as the bacon is my favorite part of the breakfast and this is the first time I've EVER eaten it in front of him. But he seemed to enjoy it....but from now on I'm not leaving my bacon anywhere near him. >_< Jeez, you give the Fiddy's an inch, and they take the entire yard.

I found this so amusing, ok not amusing when it happens to you but......... such is the joys of sharing breakfast with those in feather suits. It is amazing how fast they can run away with something.

Ohhh I know the rules trust me......it's just sometimes Mom wants to use her own rules. And guess what? I went to clean up after breakfast after I posted this, he'd rubbed his tail end in syrup on my plate and was drawing with his tail feathers all across the coffee table when I came back. So he got a butt bath and is in his cage eating sunflower seeds and I'm going to go curl up for a nap, I was up til 3AM watching Shin Chan.
