Default Ollie and the New Apartment

I moved Ollie in to the new apartment yesterday morning. She was (nearly) the last thing to go. I already had her PVC gym set up, although none of her beloved hanging gyms are up yet. Obviously her cage was all set up exactly how she'd left it when I put her in her travel cage a few hours before. I put her right into her cage when we got there so she'd have some familiarity. She took a few quick looks around... then dove into her fresh dish of pellets. I don't know why I was even worried about it. We travel quite a bit so I'm sure at this point she just thinks we're on vacation. I've walked with her several times around the apartment showing her where everything is, and while she's very alert, she doesn't seem to be upset or scared at all. I'm so glad I've got such a mellow grey!

I'm glad she's doing well in your new apartment! I hope yes she does ok overnight - that first night is always worrisome for me.

Way to go Ollie! I know how you feel Camille. Zakiya is pretty at ease in new situations as well. We are lucky!! Congrats on your new place!

My guess is that she knows everything must be alright, the parront she trusts and loves is with her and your not upset, that is the most important thing.

How exciting, a new place to call home! Congrats!! You've done such a good job socializing Ollie and seeing that her needs are always met, it doesn't surprise me that she's comfortable right away. It's just mandatory as a Parront that we worry endlessly before something like this happens.

Congrats on your new place and I totally agree with both Big Blues and Feathers. I think we set the atmosphere for our babies. When I got Nelly a new cage I let her watch me put it together and one by one take all her things and put them in till her outside perch was the last to go. Then it was time!!!She sat like a statue for about 5 mins then went right for her pine nuts. Of course I did sleep in the living room that night just in case I'm sure you both will be very happy
