Default Parrots and paint fumes

They are painting the hallways in my building outside of my apartment, so Humphrey is on vacation with my inlaws. I can smell the paint smell inside my apartment, so I thought it was best to get Humph out ASAP. According to the workmen, the painting should be finished this weekend.

Do you guys think it was necessary to take Humphrey away for a while? Obviously, I'd rather be safe than sorry and would never forgive myself if something happened to her if I kept her in my apartment while the painting is going on.

How soon can I bring her back, do you think? I was going to wait until I can no longer smell it in my apartment, but is that too soon?

Any thoughts on the subject would be most appreciated.

Humprhey is totally happy there at the 'luxury bird spa' that my in-laws provide for her. She is really at home there now. Sometimes I bring her over when I am just visiting for the afternoon, and she is happy and fine. I just miss her so much! I woke up this morning...no Humph to get up to.

I do think it was a good idea for you to take her out while they are painting - those fumes are strong for sure. I'm not sure on when it is ok to bring her back, I haven't dealt with that situation before. I would wait probably at least a day or two after the painting is finished - maybe more depending on how strongly you can still smell the fumes.

I agree, a day or two should be fine.
