Default I found something special today after my job interview

I'm trying to get a job at Hounds of the Hudson doggy daycare as a doggy supervisor or as a secretary/receptionist for them. I'm hoping for a few more hours than they're offering but I might get lucky.

Anyway onto the something special.

Lady came to the house the other day and mentioned that close the NY city there was a mini park filled with Parrots. I was like...Hmmmm....so on the drive to the place of employment we glanced to the right and LO AND BEHOLD! WILD QUAKERS! I've seen one baby quaker when I was getting ready to adopt my little Sushek (he's since passed) and it was no where near as loud or bossy sounding. They had BIG nests all up in the trees and they were just so cool. I wish we coulda stayed there longer I should have brought a camera with me. I thought about bringing them some seed but when I came back out of the park I realised I couldn't because there was a big sign prohbiting it. Ah well, when I get my lunch hour I definately know where I'm going to go eat so I can watch the little guys. They're skinner too than I had expected. The quaker I saw and have seen in members images look plumper from the extra loving. These ones were streamlined and quick. They let me get about 6 feet from em before they flew away. And only darted away from me some each time I went to kneel down. They seemed to be more comfortable with me just walking towards em. I can see why NJ made these birds illegal to possess. I wonder how many more niches are out there with Quaker babies in it. There are a lotta finches up here and I've been watching them constantly ever since I found a half grown dead baby finch to see if anymore fall out of the tree since we're close to an avian center.

Another note.

I'm seeing about building a large mounted shelf above the couch so I can put the birds in direct line to view the TV when I get his girlfriend. I've got a particular cage style in mind and I found a welders location. I am not one to let other people do the work though so I'm considering picking up a welding class so I can build my own cages SAFELY. Because I'm looking for something 30" high, 44" wide, 20" Deep. After some thinking, I'm not into tall cages, I'd rather them have some stretching room so it'd be worth either learning it there or speaking to my mom about it since she and grandpa are pretty good with a torch.

Basically though that's all I wanted to talk about, how many more Quaker parks are there in NJ? This one was really tiny but this is the only place they lived I didn't see any of them outside of the park.

How cool about the Quaker park - get some pictures if you can, I'd love to see them.

I wish I knew enough to make my own cages - I'm just not that "handy" when it comes to wood or hard ware. A welding class would be very cool though.

I don't think it's very hard, you could probably do it with a saudering iron it's just measuring and welding together then taking some metal sheers and cutting the shape. I did it all the time on the computer when we would create box designs for manufacturers (though none of mine have gone out I don't have em anymore but I know how to create Diacuts) so after researching materials I'm pretty sure it's not going to be difficult. I am not sure on this next part, but I could probably find the correct wire lengths at even a junk yard, give them a bath with bleach and all that good stuff, run em through a large bobbin to stretch it out before cutting it to the right length. I've got plenty to look at and this tuesday when i come back down that way to go to the job I will bring my camera with me and take photos for everyone. Might be a while before they're developed though because I don't have a digi. And if it falls through, my B-Day's coming, which means I could get 1 of the 3 items on my birthday list from momma, stacey, and grandma.... I've no idea what my boyfriend's getting me. I bought him like 12 different gifts...I'm only asking for one in return (I'm an EASY SHOP) but I hope it's something neat hehehe.
