Default Mas?

Must Adopt Syndrome? Gah, I called Pat but she's out of birds. I saw a picture of a Hahn's mini cuddled up to a Baby Sun and thought, OH MY GOSH! That could totally work down here. Then I started looking around to see if there were other rescues I could possibly get to rehome with him...and lo what do I find? An ECLECTUS from Wings of Hope. -_- so I emailed her with some hope of being an adoptive mom. Gawwwd. I am so, so ...I don't know what. I'm finally at that stage in my life where I have the room, the time, and the love to have tons and tons of animals but responsibly I know max capacity is 2-3 birds. ESPECIALLY since I'm only here 18 months...I can have bird 4 when I go back to washington state. But I've just been sitting here, going, Jean needs a playmate but there's an Eclectus and maybe I could adopt her and if I did would that be more because I would love to have another species of bird to work with (she's a plucker and needs love to come back out of her shell) to make happy and shower with gifts....but am I forgetting Jean in the equasion? He needs a playmate. And after adjusting here the past 2 weeks he seems fine being alone for the 6 hours in I'm class. ...but he deserves to be spoiled and pampered. Not that he isn't already and if I get another butt wag at him from the bottom of his cage there will be no more Goldfish Crackers this evening! Or is it just me thinking he needs a playmate? What am I thinking why don't I understand what's normally so pristinely clear rattling around in my skull? Bahh... I know Eclectus have a reputation for being the easiest to have around other species of birds, but this is a girly eclectus, doesn't say anything about her having issues with egg laying and all that and I know they're more hormonal......Someone tell me what pills to take for this so I can get my head straight

P.S. How many other species of parrots out there (excluding Ring Necks and Quakers and Cockatiels) are about the same size as a Sun Conure so I can expand my search if neither the Hahns or the Female Sunny or the eclectus search pans out?

Jenday is almost identical to sun except they keep the green wings, some of the other aratinga conures also. Nanday is a little larger but no as big as hahns.

Are the Nanday's as scary as they look?

The black hairdoo puts me off slightly, I don't know what to make of it with the orange eyes. But I am betting if I met the right one I'd probably go for it.

Yes if you met the right one, but you really need to ask Jean what he thinks. Nandays do seem a bit halloweenish but they good birdies. Jean would like a sunnie girlfriend. A sun girl is the best chance of being friends, even if they never breed.

I may be wrong but arent Nandays REALLY REALLY loud more so than Suns? It's been awhile but I think I remember not taking any Nandays in my store for that reason....

Cindy I think they have equal volume, it is hard to measure. I don't notice anymore, but I am told by visitors that my birds are very loud. The best choice is a girl sun by far, even if it takes a few weeks. I would not be getting another bird in a big hurry.
