Default Eve vs. Squash

So I belong to this farmers crop share program, where you buy into a share of what they produce and pick up weekly fruits and veggies. Well this week in the basket was this huge squash, I have no idea what to do with it for my self....apparently either does Eve. He is very angry about it but at the same time does not want me to remove it, like he is protecting it till he figures out if it tastes good, but he has no idea on how to go about tasting such an item, very amusing!

LOL, that's funny! I find that Ollie is always more likely to try something the first time she sees it. It's interesting, new....tasty, perhaps? She'll find out! Even if I know she ate and enjoyed it last time, it's always more difficult to get her to try it the 2nd, 3rd, 4th time(s) around... Silly birds! Great pictures!

Wonder if he'll enjoy the seeds inside & the stuff that ropes around the seeds. I like squash & pumpkin seeds - cooked in my case. If you're giving it to him to eat - maybe open a large piece out in the side?

It is a crookneck (kind of a summer squash), just steam it (or cook however you usually do zucchini) -- YUMMY!!

I figure tomorrow I will cut a couple of hole it it, to further entice him. I like the fact that it has a built in hanger!
