Default New Carpets

Well, today we had the rug guy come to give us an estimate for new rugs to put into my room, parents room, and the living room. Well we'll be getting them this Friday and I intend to take Bella out for well five hours. She needs more goodies so a trip to BP will be in order but I wonder if she should be in the home that long and it's a little late to set up anything conerning bording her. These are for the most part not expensive rugs so we can put the house up for sale with clean ones...the others are over twenty-years-old.

So will it be safe for her to come back home after they're removed? There will be no glue or anything along those lines but still....

If the new carpet won't be in yet, yes, I think it will. Maybe you could drive home, walk in by yourself cand smell the air. If it smells fummy, or even if you smell something different, I would board her.

new carpet contain formeldhyde. i worked at a place where it was present in the air the parts were painted then went thru the ovens. even though the paint contained no formeldhyde the vapors of the burn off did. we had to have a formeldhyde training due to high levels. tou would be blown away at what actually contains the stuff. i would make sure your place is aired out for awhile before bringing yourself and pets into it. especially if you have an airborn allergies or resp problems.

Sorry I'm not comfortable with 5 hours you may want to ask your vet.

I read 3 days minimum and I could still smell it. But they werent in that room.

I noticed the actual smell that was really strong finally went away after about a week running a heavy duty air cleaner. But that just takes the smell out I'm not sure about the formaldhyde.

If anything I'll see if I can get her setup at BP to be boarded for the three days. I just hope they're not stuffed with people. On the back of the rugs my mom did tell me there were warnings for people with respatory problems.
