Default a question of cameras..........

ok, question time!!! It seems I may be able to get a new camera thanks to my boss. I will be getting it from Office Depot as thats where the account is. I've narrowed the playing field down to these. Sadly the Rebel is out of my price range. Here are my options,

Sony® Cyber-shot® DSC-H7/B 8.1-Megapixel Digital Camera

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ50S - digital camera (this one has bad reviews)

Olympus SP-550 Ultra Zoom - digital camera

Canon PowerShot S3 IS 6.0-Megapixel Digital Camera

what do you all think?

I've never even heard of Panasonic as a good camera brand. That and the fact that it got bad review would automatically turn me away from that one.

I love my Sony Cybershot DSC-N1. It's also an 8.1 megapixels. I can only assume that the one you listed is also a great camera.

Canon is an excellent brand, and 6.0 MP is more than enough. I actually take nearly all my pictures on the 5 MP setting.

I don't know much about Olympus, but my best friend has one and loves it. What are the MPs on that one?

Sorry I'm not more help!

My boyfriend lives by Olympus. He's a big computer/tech guy. So I guess that's the one I would get. Oh. . .and 7.1 mp is really good too!

In that price range, I would get the Olympus or the Sony.

I have a Canon 8.3 mp and I love it although it is a proffessional camera and is rather big to carry around.

Jim,

Check out these links. My husband found them to be the most informative and detailed sites available. We have a Canon S2 IS and love it. He'd suggest the newer S3 IS.
