I got your message this weekend, however I do not have a telephone number for you to call you back at. I hope all is going well with little Ruby!
I have talked it over with my husband and we both feel that rehoming Pickles with you and your wife would be best for her...would you be keeping her yourself, or finding her somewhere else to go? This is not easy for me. I do not generally find myself on this end of these kind of situations. I feel horrible, but I need to look at what Pickles is feeling. I would like her to go somewhere and be happy with other birds and people that will love her. I believe that she would have that with you.
