Default Feeding his wing

I have a Jenday, who's age I don't know. He is a great little guy and very affectionate. Every years about this time, he begins to put food (wet pellets) under his wing, and of course the feathers there go also.
I'm thinking this is his breeding behavior, but am not certain. Does anyone else have a bird that does this?
I constantsly sit there and get this dried food wet so that I can get it off his skin - should I just leave it?

Cute, or maybe not really. I am almost convinced that the breeders carry bedding out the box by wing transport. I would just leave it. He will soon realize the feathers are dirty and bath. Breeding season does not last forever and at the moment his store under the wing is not food.

I agree I've seen alot of breeders do that. Especially Lovebirds. Well no not carry food there but carry nesting materials. lol

I'd give him some other materials, poor guy's a little confused. Some shredding paper, stuff like that. After mid July he should get a little better as the days get longer. As long as he gets incrementally longer nights too, including dawn and dusk.
