Default A sweet, snuggly grey

I am so lucky to have the sweetest little grey in the world. I am laying on the couch watching a movie and working on the laptop and she came and snuggled up next to me. I rubbed her head and she fell fast asleep. She is the best little girl in the whole world. Does anyone else have such a snuggly grey?

I babysit a snuggley grey, called gizmo. He sleeps upside down cuddle in am arm when watching tv. If his head gets scratched on one side he falls over eventually and stays that way with the tail up.

I just posted about this on another site. I saw a baby CAG in a bird store a couple weeks ago that was really snuggly. It let you pet it anywhere...didn't flinch at all. I would like to "train" Harrison to be like this but I'm not so sure it's possible. She (just found out she's a female through DNA testing) allows me to pet her head and scratch the back of her neck for a short time...then she bites...she doesn't bite really hard or draw blood...just enough to tell me she's done with being scritched. What is your opinion on teaching an 18 month old grey to be "cuddly"...?? It seems like being cuddly is a personality trait..not a trick or behavior that can be taught...I don't know...what are your thoughts, Doyle'sMommy?

Piper snuggles with Randy. It's so cute, when he's skritching her on her head or neck & stops before she's ready, she'll scoot closer to his hand & headbutt him till he starts back up! It's so funny! She's such a daddy's girl!

My TAG, Marlow- Is just like that! She loves to be pet- and allows almost anyone to pet her- But she LOVES to cuddle.... She usually digs her head under my chin when I am watching TV and falls asleep...

Heather- I don't know if you can train them to be cuddly. I think it is just Scarlett's nature that makes her love to be cuddled so much. I also really think it has to do with the fact that I am a lady and have similar hair and height as the her breeder who handfed her. I think she associates me with that because she is very attached to me in particular. And it could also just be a baby thing, because she is still very young at 7 months old. I hope she doesn't grow out of it.

Gizmo is older than a year, it is not about handfeeding either, he will sit with anyone at night, but bites boys and men in the day.

Well I hope Scarlett stays snuggly! That gives me some hope. I think she will, she is just so sweet with me.

Heather
Ollie’s is exactly the same way, he will let you pet -n- scratch for a few seconds before pulling away. Yesterday, he bit me hard on the knuckle drawing just a tad of blood, like you would get from a paper cut. What I was doing to get this bite was check is chest area by gently caressing him like I have before. but I will not do that anymore. It took me everything I had to maintain composure and not jerk back or yell. As I was watching him mall my finger, I firmly said "NO" without yelling.

I have read that greys in general are not known to be cutlers so those that are like this is a grey-t plus!

I have 2 female CAGs and they are as different as day and night. Gabby will be turning 4 this September and Jello turned 2 this past March. They are cagemates and get along very, very well. Gabby though is much more "tactile" than Jello. I can turn Gabby over on her back in my hand and scratch her neck until she falls asleep. Jello, on the other hand, likes to be perched on me (insists on it, actually) but does not like to be touched much. I thought she might "learn" to be more snuggley by observing Gabby's interactions with me, but no dice!

I've learned that just like people, every bird is different!
