Default Transparent Beak?

Last night I got woken up by a txt message so I turned a light on to read it and my parrot who has a nest inside the headboard of my bed woke up so I brought him o ut while I read it, and for the first time noticed the top of his beak is pinkish/grayish transparent looking. I don't know if this is normal for a sun conure but I'm a tad bit alarmed. I do not trust any avian vets in this area and I'm moving come next week to my first apartment in NJ. Is it normal for a sunconure's beak to be like that though? The rest of his beak is black it's just the part up by the cere then almost down to the tip. He's eating, pooping, preening and vocalizing just fine. Someone also once mentioned that gray eyes means the bird is sick, but the bird has always had gray irises and never been ill so I'm told from the past vet history report the previous owner gave me.

It pleases me your birdie has his own nest to go to. He must enjoy his headboard. You are a good person sharing the possessions, I have to point out that the actual ownership of the headboard is no longer in your hands.

If you noticed the pinkish beak because you turned the light on, it is normal. It is only really noticeable when the light shines through the beak. I am sure in the morning the beak looks black again. Suns have dark gray irises surrounding a black pupil, it is not very noticeable. If you look from far the eyes look black. If you are referring to opthalmic rings (white patch around the eye) they can go a more gray color as a result of sunlight, sort of like a sun tan.

OOOOOH! Thank you thats a relief. ANd no, the headboard is clearly mine my grandpa built it with my name on it XD he's got the scarf I made in there, a mini water dish if he gets thirsty and a mini food dish with a snack or a nut or two in it each night and if he has an emergency and has to go, there's a desk directly beside my bed so he can climb out, do his thing and return to the headboard. I guess because I never see him in normal lighting (my room is always half lit by sun, never bright and he's got an avian lamp) I never noticed it before...I feel foolish
