I saw a CAG at the pet store I went to a pet store today...one I've never been to. I have a question about a CAG I saw. It had plucked a lot of his feathers and had no tail but more disturbing was his eyes. His pupils weren't centered...they were high in the eye/iris. Sorry, I don't know the anatomy of the eye nor do I know exactly how to word exactly what I saw. The pupil was just higher than normal. I asked if he had neurological problems and the young lady answered with a giggle and "that's what I was a thinking"....Does anyone know what high/not centered pupils means?
The first time I was there, he was just sitting in his cage. When I went back with my camera, about 2 hours later, he was climbing on the outside of the cage...he was playing with the Amazon's food dish on the cage next to him. He had figured out how to open the "food gate". He acted fine, really...the young lady said he does not allow any human to touch him, though.
Anyway, I'm just sick, wondering about him. He just didn't look right with those eyes. I got some pictures of him but it's hard to see what I'm talking about with his eyes. Anybody know?
**I had gone back with my camera because of the conditions of the cages of ALL the birds. I couldn't get through to animal control so I'll be trying again on Monday. I'll walk my pictures in if I can't get them by phone. I'm hoping animal control will order them to have the CAG seen by a vet in addition to getting the birds moved to appropriately sized and clean cages. |
