Default Foam

I came across a bird toy with foam pieces on it. I had thought that foam was not safe for birds, should they ingest any of it. Is this incorrect?

I'd be nervous about it causing a blockage (if ingested). Maybe its like with wood, they chew it but don't eat it, but I wouldn't try it. There are a lot of toys out there that aren't really all that safe.

My thoughts are that if your bird is going to eat any part of his toys that is bad. Wood, plastic, metal bell dingers, all can cause a blockage.

I think with most toys, you just have to watch your bird.

Isn't that the truth!!! Its make me wonder when I see bird toys with cheap bells that the finish is flaking off. Or my favorite the toys that say 100% bird safe and its got a zinc coated quick link.

Camille,
I think that one would make me a little nervous. I am not an expert on this, but foam I would think could cause a problem potentially.
