He is probably just trying to preen. All birds preen everyday. I would suggest as he is a baby just give him a shallow dish of water and see if he baths himself. You may have to play with you fingers in the water to see if he gets interested. You may have to offer him bath water a few times till he gets the idea. If he is clearly not interested spray him lightly, not even wet, with a spray bottle but STOP if he shows the slightest bit of fear. I would make sure he is my very best friend before attempting to take him in the big shower with you. The last thing you want to do right now is frighten him in any way. Keep in mind if you frighten him now he will become a problem, now is the time to allow him to get used to you in a loving, gentle manner.

p.s Maybe someone with more grey experience can answer. 14 weeks may be a little young to take much interest in water games.

Congratulations!

I don't think Ollie had her first real bath until she was a little older. But I think it would be great for you to get your baby used to water, by playing and splashing in it where he can see you. Maybe put some foot toys in the water dish (one's that will float) to make it seem more fun.

Babies are clumsy, so you may want to put a towl at the bottom of the cage in case he should fall. Keep perches fairly low as well. There's no need for him to be climbing very high yet. And toys are a must! Lots and lots of toys for mental stimulation! He needs to learn how to play!
