How is Kally doing this Morning?

Guess what Gary, she is still with us.....my baby is here.

I kept her in her kennel last night, took out the perch, even though it was only 3 inches high, It was better for her to relax without falling.

This morning, I opened up the kennel and she was standing looking so sweet at me and she regurgitated on the towel, I waited for her to come to me, I picked her up (she has very little strengh in her legs), I sat her on the counter and she had her fav. sun flower seeds, and 2 pieces of orange. (yaho she is eating)

I have an appt. this afternoon for xrays.

I really went into panic mode

Oh no - what's going on with Kally? I must have missed something - I hope she's ok and the appt. goes well...

Take some orange slices with you for energy. Try to get her to eat if you can please and give her 3 more drops of childrens motrin for the pain.

Its a long story: But I will just tell you in short OK?

Last night Kally (YCM) got off balance and fell 3 feet onto the grate of her cage and then another foot onto the floor,

She flopped and lost at least 15 to 20 feathers,,,,.........I thought I lost her

I picked her up and held her, she was breathing heavy and gasping for air, once she setteled down somewhat, I then proceeded to check her out,

is her wing broken??? what about her legs? what about her neck??? I made some phone calls to different people which helped me out tremendously, and to calm me down.
Long story is that, she had a hard time grasping onto my finger, it was her left side that she fell on.

She slept in her travel cage last night, I put some towels down for her, and just prayed she would be ok. This morning she was eating sun flower seeds and had 2 big bites of an orange.

Today I took her for xrays, and the DR. said no break or fracture.
It looks as though she hurt her left side pretty good, more of a sprain,

I thought I would share this with you, as this was my experience, and if it can EVER help anyone else, then its worth it.

Poor Kally! Ingrid, it must have been so frightening, not surprised it took a while for you to calm down, I probably wouldn't be calmed down yet! I'm glad nothing was broken, and will continue to pray for her. You know we're all pulling for her to recover quickly. Hope you get to relax some now!
