Wink Wanting info. on JenDay Conures

Hi everyone....
I am wondering if anyone has any experience with a JenDay Conure? What are their personalities like and how noisey are they really? I've heard they are so loud and can be biters.... I have a Sun Conure and he is hardly vocal at all. He talks some in the morning and when evening comes around he knows that is our play time for the night and snuggling time with my over shirt. He just chatters then.
But a friend is considering getting a JenDay and I am trying to get some info for her before she makes her decision. Thanks a bunch!

Here's some info I found with Google:

Description: Jenday Conures look extremly similar to Sun Conures, however, Jendays have almost all green wings (except thier primary flight feathers, which are blue). As you can see from the two pictures above, they have a line of red across the top of their beak (however, some subspecies of Jendays may lack this distinct line). mainly yellow heads, with red/orange tummies.

Talking Ability: Jendays are fair talkers, they can learn a couple words or so (like most other conures), but like most conures, they don't excell in the talking department. But they more than make up for it with their wonderful personalities and beautiful coloring.

Loudness Factor: Jenday conures can be loud at times! However, this is true with almost any conure. Conures usually only get loud however, in the morning and evening for about 10 minutes each time. (Many Conures also will greet their "flock members" when they arrive home from school or work also).

Personality: Jenday conures have wonderful, loving personalities. They make excellent pets (like all conures) as long as you can deal with some noise every now and then. Jenday conures are known to be just as sweet as sun conures, but usually with a slightly cheeper price tag (since they aren't considered by many to be "as pretty" as sun conures). Jenday conures are also often refered to as Jendaya Conures.

Jendays are wonderful little birds - very much like Sun Conures - but they do have a very high-pitched squawk. I would say the are a bit high on the noise level.

Except for color Jenday and Sun are the same. They also interbreed easily and form the hybrid Sunday conure.

i can only second what posts above already said... they're very similar to sun conures thus you might end up with a lot of noise at times. like with sunnies, the amount of screaming depends strongly on the bird's personality. regarding the nippiness - i always consider this a factor that depends predominantly on the person who handles the bird. i live with a GCC who are supposed to be the nippiest conures around - and granted, valo does nip but it's nothing unbearable and it's not constantly.

overall, jendays are great pets just like sun conures, and if you can deal with the possiblity of a little noise here and there your friend will get a buddy for life.

Thank you everyone for your information! I really didn't think there could be that much difference between the JenDay and the Sun Conure. Someone had a bad experience with a JenDay but I think there were some circumstances that went along with that story.

I have passed on your information to her and hopefully she'll take the little JenDay.
