I have only had Chico for around 8 months, He is 13 years old and a plucker. His owners were expecting their first child and thought it best for him to go to a home where he would be forvever and around other fids his size.
He has plucked now from what they told me for 6 years. It is now I believe a habbit

There are many reasons for PLUCKING, the number 1 reason is someone provided that little one un-conditional love, then the love was turned off like a water faucet.
You mention Habit, and by all means you are correct, however, un-conditional love will help that habit to reside, time will heal this wound.
