The breeder's Mom came to the door holding him in her hands. He was reluctant to leave her - she kind of scraped him off her hands. I hadn't had the opportunity to wash up after work - so she put him into the cage we brought.

He is of course adorable. He is in the living room, in Mom's round finch cage. He has climbed to the very top of the hanging ladder we put in there.

His tail is quite long ~ already a big boy! His eyes look like he has make-up on. They look like he has eyeliner - Laker has white lids. Maybe that's a baby thing.

We're letting him be - I've seen him eating a lot but haven't seen him at the water. There's lots of normal poop on the floor. I don't want to fuss with him today/night.

I wonder if Laker knows somethings up? He's been very 'in your face' since the new bird arrived. He was singing & singing. Then Rio called out & Laker called back but the baby didn't continue. Laker is used to me playing Budgie sounds on the computer so i don't know....... Laker has been flying all around at the back of the apartment, as usual.

When all was quiet here - I mean when Laker was busy eating & the men where out.
I took Rio into my son's room for some one on one. He was very frightened. But we did interact. I'll do it again a few times today - otherwise he gets to just hang [yes a pun] around in his cage for a while.

First thing this morning when Laker started up his morning hellos to the universe - Rio joined in.
Laker was so amazed i thought he'd fall off his gym. He flew into the studio/office to see if the bird was there but when he couldn't see him he flew back. When i took Laker into the living room to clean his cage & let him have some balcony time - Rio was in Jack's room. So now he's probably thinking it's all an evil trick! (my son was kind of horrified at the bird stereo this morning - teens like to sleep in remember - but he has to work today, so it wasn't so bad)

I grabbed some photos, as best i could with him being nervous - not excellent focus - so Sarah you're vindicated.
