ever since I met that senegal in the petstore who layed on its back and let me pet its tummy, I've been on a mission to get at leat of my birds to do it. A week later, lots of patience and only a little blood (mine).... Jackie the lory is the winner. She rolls over in my hand puffs up and says iches, iches, step up, step up, over and over as I pet her, its so cool.....

last ones..... I think screech the quaker new I was getting frustrated after 2 years of nothing and out of nowhere, shes beginning to become friendly. I honestly think she jealous of the new Lory..... she layed in my hand too just barley enough time to snap a pic though....

Did you REALLY get Jackie to lay upside down in your hand after only 1 week (without trick photgraphy)

Haha, no lie... I've only had her about a month or so... she was abandoned, but obviousley not abused before hand, because we bonded instantly and shes very trusting....

Okay, no fair posting pics of Papi without any detail. Boy? Girl? Age? What an absolutely lovely Nape. Just a guess, but either a fairly young male or else a female, yes?

Oh, I'm sorry.. I had posted info before, so it didnt occur to me to do it again, but I'm still relativley new here. Good guess..... He is a male yellow nape, about 6ish, although he was a rescue so I dont know his exact hatch date, but I got him when he was about 4... so thinking outloud... he's about 6 and a halfish.... and while I'm at it, Jack (Jackie) is a female green nape rainbow Lory who is about a year and a half old, also a rescue. Screech is a female Quaker who I cought outside and couldnt trace her band. Shes mature, so dont know her age at all. I also have a male cinn. tiel named twitch.

Loved the pics! Looks like you have a wonderful relationship with your birds, I'm particularly jealous about Papi. I really hope someday Tausi and I will share the trust you two enjoy!

What a beautiful Lory, and how cool is that?

I remember you posting about Screech, glad to hear that she's opening up. Weird how it seems with birds that its always darkest just before the dawn, isn't it? Just when you're about to give up, you get a breakthrough.
