I put Ixchel and Yaxche in the main birdroom to spend the afternoon with all the fids. They were nervous at first and of course the Tiels freaked out over these colourful newcomers but things have settled down now. What is really amazing is that Chaska has accepted them straight away and is hanging out with them! I tried to get a better photo but it keeps focussing on the wire but you can still see the three South Americans all huddled together!


Yesterday, I had put Ixchel in there and brought Chaska in with Yaxche. They were nervous but curious.

Next weekend, I will leave them in there a bit longer and move the spare happy hut (since they sleep together) into the bird room. By Easter weekend, I hope to have them fully integrated--and then I will have an empty cage in the bedroom.

Oh I love the first pic! I am so happy they are getting along! I'm going to watch the video when I get home.

You know what trips me out is that in their native land-Brazil's Pantanal, Nandays and Quakers dohang out together! It's instinctive with these guys! Jandays are from northern Brazil/Venezuela so they wouldn't meet in the wild.
