Default TDC, Benji and Cricket

Went to the AV for Benji today and for Crickets follow up on his bacteria infection. Crickets bacteria is gone but he now has a yeast infection!!! Vet said its not unusual and is typically compounded by, but not caused by, doughy things like bread or crackers, stuff like that. So its two more weeks of meds for Cricket!!
Benji showed signs of a slight bacteria infection so he is meds now too. Which means in two weeks when I take Zoey in for her well bird check up, I will be bring three birds!!
Vet says Benji and Cricket both have this thing called TDC. Its very likely that all four of my birds have it. She said its very common and typically not diagnosed. Fortunately TDC is not life threatening but they usually have to live with it their whole lives.

Oh yeah.............. TDC is Too Dang Cute!!! hehehehe sorry for any heart failure.......

Sorry to hear your fids are not 100%, hope all are well VERY soon! BTW, How are you handling the meds? I am having to give meds for low (good) gut bacteria and my grey hates it.

yes I am giving the meds. So far it isn't too bad. Cricket likes the meds and Benji gives up and takes his medicine, so far.

The AV also told me it is ok to give the ACV in the water while on the meds as well. I also found out I was not using enough ACV. 15 ml to a liter of water. I kind of giggled when she said get a bottle and keep it in the frig for the birds. I use a liter of water every morning. lol No need for more special bottles!!

i too was wondering how you give them the meds... (i know i could give valo anything as long as i can mix it with OJ )

I have never given ACV--what are the benefits? Maybe I need to add it to my routine...

I hold them by the side of the neck just below the their little heads. Cricket goes completely docile. Benji I need to make sure his feet can grab something.

ACV naturally combats bacteria and some viruses.

Might be a little tougher to use that technique with Sophie Big Bird would go ballistic-not surehow the ekkies would respond.
