Default I better listen

so I don't ever have to say, "they told me" and I don't have to hear "We told you so!!!"

Tonight I start the process of separating Benji and Sophie. I think Benji is going to be happy about this. At least not quite so concerned about it as Sophie. Sophie 17 months old. In the next six months or so she will mature. All it will take is her snapping once and Benji is history. Maybe she never will and what I believe I am seeing is right. I've put the question to enough people that putting up with Sophie squawking because she wants to play with Benji when they are all out of the cages, would be easier then writing an epitaph for Benji.

Good choice Jim.. This is one set of star-crossed lovers who shouldn't be together.

Oh, I'm sorry Jim. I know this has to be hard. Poor fids! It's for the best, but still it's a little sad.

What are you going to do, will they have separate out of cages times? Or will they even be able to see each other at all? Just curious. But I think it is the best choice.

I just have to not let Sophie get to him. They will not be out on the patio together anymore. During normal play time indoors I keep Sophie off of the floor as that is where Benji likes to go and hang out. Sophie will probably be spending a lot of time in the bedroom away from everybody else for a few days.

What makes this the hardest is what I "see" going on has Sophie being wonderfully gentle with Benji. She does take into account his size even tho he thinks he is huge. So basically what I see going on is contrary to what advice has told me.
So I have to trust the experience of others over what I think may be right. Fortunately I hate being wrong more then I want to be right so its just easier to change my mind.

That's because you are a good birdie parront, Jim - an excellent one! Kudos to you for heeding the advice, albeit not what you wanted to hear.
