Hi! In Pacific Greens, there is blue on the wings of the males. Girls do not have this. Girls have lots of pretty color though. The eyes are gorgeous and so is the rump area. Turquois and blue. Like a hummingbird. Irridencent.
Let's see. When we bought Chipper, she was a darling sweetie and she came to be close to me when I talked. Hubby wanted a parrot and I thought they would be too loud. Most are too loud for me. I have Chronic Fatigue and often do not feel well. I have to have a quiet home too.
SO, we both fell in love with her! They man had a bit of trouble getting her so I asked if I could. I caught her.
We came home and she was pretty wild for a while. I took her out each day, talking and singing quietly. I taught her to turn around, quack on cue and to touch various toys when I ask. Week by week, we bonded. I learned on the boards not to rush the bonding and all went well.
As the months went by, she really became our best little cuddly girl! She is now very bonded and close to my hubby and I. We have had her for one year and a month.
We tell her what will come next. Scritches, night night, naptime etc. She likes that very much. Parrotlets can get excited and we try to keep her nice and calm and she is happy with that.
She gets at least 12 hours of sleep each night and she loves her naptime. When I go nap, I close the window coverings and she sleeps. She is just a little doll! I can't WAIT to see her each morning. We love buying toys and a few months ago, we bought her mansion. They need very large cages.
She is a great little eater. Loves her veggie mash, nutriberries, millet, birdie breads that I add lots of veggies and fruit to.
Thank you for asking. Did I answer your questions? I am so happy there is a parrot that is just right for me.
