Default never too careful

I tell ya I never would have thought this would have been a problem. Poor little Cricket. I had all my fids out this evening, just put them back to eat before they go to bed. I put Cricket on the play gym, had Zoey with me, Sophie was running around on the cages and Benji was inspecting my slippers. I looked over and saw Cricket playing with the chain on one of the toys.
Sophie came off the cages as Benji was on the floor and came looking for him. Cricket was still leaning out with the toy in his beak. Not moving. Not making a sound. So I think he is staying still to avoid notice from Sophie. A couple minutes later he still hasn't moved at all!! I call him, nothing. I go and put my finger out and he tries like heck to step up but the poor little guys beak, lower mandible (SP?) was stuck in the gap of a link in the chain!!! Well because I stood up Zoey spazzed and jumped off my arm which got Sophie's attention and she came after Zoey, Benji was still intrigued with my slipper (yes its on my foot). Some fancy foot work later I got Zoey going one way and Sophie the other, looking for Benji, who is now running away from Sophie. Poor guy is still stuck in the link!!! I hold Cricket trying to figure out how I was going to do that AND work pliers to open the link when a couple wiggles later he got his beak out.
I couldn't believe he just sat there and didn't make a noise!! Not a panic peep or a wing flap or anything to let me know he was in trouble! I guess thats the "I'm prey and if I sound trouble I'm lunch" thing.
His beak is fine, no harm no foul. Thankfully!

Wow, that's scary! I'm glad that no one was hurt. That is an interesting point, if the small ones wouldn't put up a fuss if they were in such a predicament..

Something like that happened with Alex last week. His nail was stuck in between two branches on the manzanita stand. He stayed pretty cool as I got it out but it still scared me!

my worst shredding from Sophie came when she had her leg stuck in a rope she unraveled. I knew I was in for it. She was so scared.

Sounds like you were more scared than Cricket was! He has every confidence his daddy would get him out!
