#1 | | | Honest Opinions Needed... Hi Everyone,
I hope you are all doing well and the Fid's are healthy and happy.
Right now I have a Tiel and a re-homed Congo Grey who loves my husband, not me.
I am thinking about a Too but sooooooooo many people have said don't do it.
Honest opinions needed for those of you who are Too owners, Pros and Cons please.
I know someone who needs to get rid of his birds. He has a Triton and a Galerita.
Input or Insight appreciated. |

We watched a little M2 girl for a month that was a LOVE. Sweet as pie and not a screamer, but even though she wasn't technically what too people call a screamer or as bad as say your average too, in fact everyone that I talked to with a too said she was really quite. She was, to me, unbearable. To my husband it was no big deal. But I felt like my head was getting split open every time she'd yell. Even my birds were relived when she went back home. So I say you REALLY need to hang out with them as much as possible to see if it's something that you can take. They are really sweetheart birds. If you can take the noise and the fact that they are soooooo demanding of attention. Definitely not a just for eye candy type bird. This little girl was like a newborn baby in how much attention she needed. But like, I said, so very sweet. Good luck! | Thats good and honest advice! |

And be sure you know the real reason they are rehoming.
| Both of these birds are fabulous birds - I know them personally. This is not the typical "I got in over my head" situation. The owner is on his death bed due to horrible asthma from the powder. He has been hospitalized twice in the past month. If he does not rehome them, bottom line is he will die. I cannot vouch for the noise level; however, I can tell you that these two birds got the best of everything. This poor family also has to rehome their 7 year old bichon, as well as their moustached parakeet. The Galerita is trained to fly and I can tell you this bird is like a giant butterfly - very graceful - beautiful - brought tears to my eyes! So you can discount that this bird is a "plucker" - it's not the situtation at all. Abby - these birds would fit your "well adjusted" category. I am not sure if that will make your decision different, Abby, but I can certainly vouch for the care these birds have had for the past year - in a word - fabulous. |
