Default Guess what I found on Jerry's bell...

Last night when I was cleaning cages I finally found *solid proof* that Jerry is in love with his bell Yep, I had to clean some regurgitated stuff off of his bell. I saw that it wasn't shiny down at the bottom so I pulled it out, thinking that it had corroded and I would replace the bell, but alas - it was chunky stuff on the bell Ewww...

He can keep the bell as long as this doesn't get out of hand. I did move the bell to a different location and it's not as easily accessible as it was.

So he's horny lol. Hopefully he and Winston get along (praying they will) - as we were gathering supplies for Winston before we took him home, I did witness Winston humping his mirror toy So maybe he and Jerry can feed each other and be best lil' horny buds LOL.

Good luck Sarah.
In Winston's case the store lighting might have had something to do with it.

In Jerry's case - well.... if it was me the bell would go on holiday for a bit. When Laker resolved his mating issues he had no interest anymore with the bell which he was so in love with last fall. I think i re-introduced the bell after a month.

I will watch what happens with his bell. I did move it.

It's good to know that you've successfully re-introduced the bell and there was no further problem. I have not re-introduced Jerry's two toys with which he became aggressive over.

Oh that's funny! Hopefully you won't get the budgie version of "Brokeback Mountain" going on there when they finally meet. We have the French Bulldog version happening here. I wish they knew how to quit each other -because it's beginning to gross me out!

LOL Sarah. Jerry's in love! I don't even know what I would do. I bet when Winston meets him he won't even remember the bell!

The only toy i wasn't able to return was the plastic - clear acrylic - wheel with a bell inside. I was also worried he's get a foot/toe caught. It is irritating because i bought it when we were looking for alternative toys. I imagine the new bird will be occupying his thoughts for a while - maybe temporary upset to the bell love???

By the way; if Laker is too close, for long periods of time, to his mirror [our dresser mirror], he gets very aggressive. All i have to do is step the gym back so he can only see himself with no mirror tapping. I also reduce his time with all shiny objects.

Carmine & Cuddles - do they do more than preen each other?

Well I've heard that birds in love (budgies at least) will regurgitate and feed each other even if they are same sex (if they feel very strongly for one another).
