You just know you're going to cruise by that pet store again this week Sarah! Would Dave really KILL you? I don't think so...He LOVES you and wants you to be happy. You can blame us! We're okay with that!! Right Tiff? |
You bet I'll be popping in to that pet store this weekend! I actually didn't even know that this particular store was there until last week, and decided to go in last night. And the torturous thing is that it's right down the street from my Yoga studio so I will drive past it twice a week!
Dave has agreed to go and look at this big guy - that's a good sign. Last night I told him he had to go and see him and he agreed.
Over the past few months there was a little Red Bellied girl that I had fallen in love with at another pet store. Also on my way to Yoga, I would stop in there and talk to her. She was the sweetest thing - and I do believe I was one of her Chosen Ones.

She would let me scritch her all night if I could, and she would follow me around in her cage to get closest to me. She had the cutest voice possible, a girly high-pitched voice and she would say "Pretty Girl!" and "I love you!" The other workers in the store were kind of amazed because she really didn't take to many people at all and she usually bit everyone else.
So last weekend I went in to visit my little girl and she was gone. My heart kind of sank in thinking that she got shipped to a different store because she didn't sell quick enough (she was there for months and months). As I was hanging out with the other birds all the workers came up to me one by one and said that she was just sold the previous night.
But the best thing is that it sounds like she went to a good home - she also took to the woman who bought her. And the woman has experience with birds so I'm happy for the little cutie. The thing that made me not think about giving her a home myself was that she did not like men - even though she bit most people that tried to handle her, she seemed to not like men at all. And Dave has to be able to handle any and all birds in our house.
But I still think about that little girl all the time.
