Default he eats!!! and eats!!!

Good grief does that little guy put away the food!!! I am trying to steer away from all seed diets as I'm gun shy about that as Cricket doesn't fly. He gets a lot of exercise tho. He only stops to eat all day. So I tried out Benji blend on him today. "What the heck is Benji blend?" you ask. Its a little something made up special for my little big man (Benji's new nick name) by http://www.mybirdstore.com/ but I don't think its on the on line menu yet. He woofed it down. He was amazed to find out that he was even eating the mash!! But, just like the other three he does have his "won't eat this" pile under the food dish.

The Benji Blend is a mini-sized version of our bigger bird Ultimate Blend. (Jim, I'll be working on the website next weeks so hopefully the Benji Blend will soon be added).

My P'lets used to eat everything. They were on a pelleted diet - Zupreem in one and Harrison's in the other bowl. They also got Asian Medley or fresh veggies and fruits every day. Their cage was HUGE so they more than burned everything off. They got seed perhaps once a week, which was Petite Hookbill Legume (remind me to send you some). I gave them everything "whole" or in "large chunks". Don't underestimate these little parrots. They are a huge bird inside a tiny package!

I forgot to mention that Cricket puts away the Volkman's 15 minute soak and serve, birdy bread AND sprouts. My fids are so spoiled!! And I so love doing it!

Yep, the little guys have super high metabolisms to pack on the food and then burn it all off

I think I've seen articles here and there about concern with P'lets in particular and pellets, you may want to look into that. I can't recall exactly since I don't have a p'let but I usually try to skim facts on all species (but we all know that nothing about diet related is fact!! You're probably aware of what I'm talking about Jim since you're up on diet related stuff for the fids).

Very interesting Jim - look forward to you Benji recipe. Little Cricket seems to be making a big impression.

all those folks that said they are a little parrot with a big parrot attitude were not kidding!!! But then I haven't had a bird yet that didn't impress the heck out of me. That includes the Parakeets that didn't want anything to do with us as well!! lol
