Default I get the best hellos :-}

I wake up and come downstairs in the morning. Hello! Hi!!! Hi pretty! Helllloooooo! LaLa!! (big wings, excited voices and pinned eyes all around).

I come home from a long day of work. Hello! Hi!!! Hi pretty! Helllloooooo! LaLa!! (big wings, excited voices and pinned eyes all around).

I leave the room for more then 10 minutes and come back. Hello! Hi!!! Hi pretty! Helllloooooo! LaLa!! (big wings, excited voices and pinned eyes all around).

How could anyone have a bad day with that kind of apparent affection?? I love macaws :-}

By the middle of the workday, I just can't wait for it to end so I can get home, for my hellos :-}

Tell me your greeting ritual!

How sweet is that! I just hear a bunch of screeches when I come home, but when I pick up Doyle he makes a gargling noise and says "Doy Doy Doy". LOL

when i come home, valo - quiet as GCCs are - sits on the perch on the very front of the cage.... drops his tail and bobbs his head at me.... so, a "word-less" welcome.... when i then go to wash my hands, and mr. stinkefuss thinks it takes to long, he starts singing his welcome song (which probably sounds like an awful lot of loud screatching for everybody but me )

similar behavior/noises can be observed when i leave the room....

so, no "hello"s here.... your welcoming committee sure does a great job

I get some sweet hello's when I wake Ollie up in the morning. I uncover her to the sweetest little "coo" sound you've ever heard! Then she tells me "hi, hello!"

When I come home during the day she doesn't usually talk right away. She scrambles all over the front of her cage until I let her out- then she will start talking!

Dakota is loud all the time, and is constantly going through his repertoire of words and phrases, its not event specific!

Nimo starts hollering when he hears the car... he screams his head off until we come in the door. I guess you could say that our neighbors always know when we come home. :-) Pamela

The infamous Macaw scream usually starts when they hear my car pull in the driveway.

In the morning it's usually a high pitched "Hi" sometimes a contact call. One morning Kita said, "Good Morning, How are you?" To date she's never said it again.

HaHa, that's great! I got a big ol southern accented "goodniiiight" out of Red once..... and only once. I thought he was correcting me because I had been saying "night night" but he only said it the once!

He's losing his southern accent by the way :-{ sounding more like me instead; I thought the accent was cute and had hoped he would keep it a bit, but it was not meant to be I guess! "Hiiiiii Reeeeed" in southern was oooooh so cute!
