#4 | | | What a confusion of colors! From the clutch Deb raised, there were 3 of the yellow ones (she kept the 1 whitefaced one, I think), my "seagull colored" Casper, a gorgeous purple one, some normal looking ones, and a dutch blue, like my daughter has. Another person raised the younger ones, and there were at least 2 of the "seagull colored" ones, some gorgeous pieds, some of the yellow ones, etc. Geez--if one wanted a collection of multicolored "gems", lovebirds would seem to be the way to go! |

I just think they're so lovely, and wherever I see them, there never seems to be two of the same color. I don't really care about gender, except I don't want them breeding. I'm hoping that I won't have to worry about that either way if they have no place to nest :-). |

I would probably have a lovebird someday if their voices weren't so high-pitched. | Funny you should mention that, Sarah. Z and I laid down for a nap a couple of hours ago, as he had a down time in the middle of the night, and we both only got about 3 hours sleep. Well, those little lovies were going off like nobody's business, and we had to comment that while the macaws can definitely be much noisier, the little lovies, with their view through a window, never shut up a moment from the time it gets light 'til the time it gets dark outside. Luckily, they were more background noise than anything, and we still got to sleep!
Deb, you musta done something right with the li'l guys. You know I rarely handle them. When I do, although they may try to fly away, they never, ever bite. They sit and shiver, and if they get a chance, off they go, but they're gentle by nature, as is Ms. A's Pip. Pip the Minty Green Pickle doesn't get handled much, either, but she's always ready for a snuggle and a ride. Those little things are a joy to have around. |
