Default Can anyone tell me what color these are called?

I have these 2 young lovebirds that Deb handraised for me not too long ago. While they don't enjoy handling, they don't bite, either, and I like them :-). No, I don't know either of their genders. Nor do I know what colors they're called, and I'm hoping someone with more knowledge of lovies than I have can tell me. The yellowish one is Bluetail, and the yellow color has the slightest hint of green. The seagull colored one is Casper, and also has the slightest hint of green. They're both some kind of peachface variant is all I know for sure.

Can someone satisfy my curiosity as to whether these color variations have a certain name? Thanks :-).

They are a Cinnamon (Blue Tail) and a Clear Pied (Casper). I thought I had told you that? As far as sexing them... we should be able to do that now. They are getting to be old enough.

What a confusion of colors! From the clutch Deb raised, there were 3 of the yellow ones (she kept the 1 whitefaced one, I think), my "seagull colored" Casper, a gorgeous purple one, some normal looking ones, and a dutch blue, like my daughter has. Another person raised the younger ones, and there were at least 2 of the "seagull colored" ones, some gorgeous pieds, some of the yellow ones, etc. Geez--if one wanted a collection of multicolored "gems", lovebirds would seem to be the way to go!

Hey, Deb. Nope, I didn't know. I didn't think you did! LOL! I just think they're so lovely, and wherever I see them, there never seems to be two of the same color. I don't really care about gender, except I don't want them breeding. I'm hoping that I won't have to worry about that either way if they have no place to nest :-).

Yep, I kept the Cinnamon with double dark factor (yellow with a grey tail) and the Violet Factor (purple).

Baby Lovies are TOO adorable... and when they are handfed they grow up into amazinging friendly adults!

They are gorgeous! Look out Petey McSweet, there are more little ones movin' in!

I would probably have a lovebird someday if their voices weren't so high-pitched.

Funny you should mention that, Sarah. Z and I laid down for a nap a couple of hours ago, as he had a down time in the middle of the night, and we both only got about 3 hours sleep. Well, those little lovies were going off like nobody's business, and we had to comment that while the macaws can definitely be much noisier, the little lovies, with their view through a window, never shut up a moment from the time it gets light 'til the time it gets dark outside. Luckily, they were more background noise than anything, and we still got to sleep!

Deb, you musta done something right with the li'l guys. You know I rarely handle them. When I do, although they may try to fly away, they never, ever bite. They sit and shiver, and if they get a chance, off they go, but they're gentle by nature, as is Ms. A's Pip. Pip the Minty Green Pickle doesn't get handled much, either, but she's always ready for a snuggle and a ride. Those little things are a joy to have around.

Beautiful! Isn't it amazing how many mutations you can find in lovebirds!
